At Courtside Homeschool Academy, we celebrate the significant impact a thoughtful tutor can make on students. CHA promises to provide resources and on-going support to tutors so they can make the biggest impact influence.

We now offer virtual tutoring options.

How It Works

Our match process for tutors is similar to that of the match process for homeschool teachers

Family Survey

Upon receiving tutor applications, CHA will screen potential educators, review resumes, and meet with families, Selected candidates will be invited to an interview where CHA will learn more about each tutor’s educational background, teaching style, and personality.

After the initial interview, references will be checked. This provides CHA with a more in-depth look at who candidates are as a person, employee, and teacher from someone who knows them professionally and personally.

Reference Check

Meet & Greet

Based on information gathered during the interview process, a compatible match will be determined. CHA will connect tutors and families to schedule an informal virtual Meet & Greet. It is essential for students to gain a level of comfort with their new tutor before instruction begins, and it is equally important for CHA tutors to be comfortable and confident with their new family.

Once the virtual tutoring adventure begins, CHA is still part of the journey. From and regular communication to online resources, CHA will continue to make every teacher’s success and comfort a top priority. All tutors will be provided with ongoing support and access to a CHA representative to address any needs that may arise..

Ongoing Support

For tutoring, families have the option to complete academic assessments that measure student learning. Proctors will administer assessments in reading and math. Proctors must be certified to teach in their state.
